Fortune 500 companies with the highest representation of women board directors attained significantly higher financial performance, emphasizing the fact that mixed research teams simply perform better. Indian research and innovation only stands to benefit from equal rights, equal careers and the equal participation of both women and men.

It is our ambition to deploy all efforts possible to make gender equality a reality in the realm of research and innovation. Too few women are in leadership positions and too few women are involved in decision-making. We need to correct these imbalances.  

  • Fostering gender balance in research teams, in order to close the gaps in the participation of women.

  • Integrating the gender dimension in research and innovation (R&I) content, helps improve the scientific quality and societal relevance of the produced knowledge, technology and/or innovation.


We need female leadership and entrepreneurship at all levels of politics, business and science, so that India can truly be able to reach its potential.

  • Subscribe to science magazine at home or office

  • Let girls pursue higher studies in Sciences

  • Realise that being a scientist is not just a male prerogative

  • Not practice any unscientific social or religious practice

  • Teachers should encourage girls to get into research fields

  • Conduct awareness programs

  • Pool financial resources to establish laboratories

  • Do not look down upon women who are in research or discourage those who are innovating

  • Conduct National Women Science Congress

  • Conduct scientific exhibitions in Schools and Colleges

  • Develop research centres in all Universities

  • Identify girl students interested in the field and provide financial support to research students
